Sandy Panthers: Race to 50 Dual Wins

Senior Ayla Johnson has 47 wins in 87 scoring-flight dual match appearances.  Senior Destiny White has 44 wins in 79 scoring-flight dual match appearances. 

Panther Newcomers: Women's Tennis @ Clemson (Jan. 17, 2025)

After a retirement loss Monday at Georgia Tech, senior Sierra Sandy was back on court against Clemson- she competed in doubles and forced a third set in her singles match.  Freshman Zeynep Erbakan , who was also competing in her second-ever dual match for the Panthers, picked up her first point in the #6 singles match, winning 6-0, 6-2 and evening her dual singles record at 1-1.  The Panthers have their home opener Sunday against Kennesaw State. 

Softball Home Opener

Although their season opener is February 7th in Boca Raton, their home opener is Sunday, February 16 at noon against Michigan at the Bob Heck Softball Complex , followed by a 6pm game Tuesday, February 18 against Kennesaw State, also at the Heck.  All softball games are non-ticketed affairs, meaning you can just show up and support the team. 

Track & Field Spring Opener

The track & field squad will open spring semester competition on Sunday in Birmingham at the KMS Invite hosted by Samford. In their most recent action at the Clemson Opener last month.... Sophomore Laila Palmer finished up twenty-fifth in the prelims of the 60 meters (7.78) Freshman Janiyah Alibey finished up thirty-ninth in the prelims of the 60 meters (8.14) Sophomore Marie Tchocksi finished up twenty-eighth in the 200 meters (27.10) and sixteenth in the long jump (5.15/16'10.75") Sophomore Gabrielle Key finished up thirtieth in the 200 meters (28.26) and fifteenth in the long jump (5.29/17'4.25") Sophomore Aniyah Mosley finished up eighth in the 400 meters (1:00.85) and added a ninth-place finish in the weight throw (14.18/46'6.25") Sophomore Kennedy Jacquet finished up twenty-fifth in the prelims of the 60 meter hurdles (9.63) and fourteenth in the triple jump (11.13/36'6.25") Senior Valissa Brown finished up fourth in the long jump (5...

Women's Basketball: Games Played Watch

With the Panthers back in action on Thursday at Coastal Carolina, senior Mikyla Tolivert is eight games away from 100 for her career (it's worth noting that there's a three-way tie for ninth in terms of career games played- 117). Tolivert's 1,056 points through 92 games also puts her twentieth all-time on the scoring chart, surpassing Rhian Jones, who scored 1,048 points from 1992-1996. Nineteenth on the list is Monica Thomas, who scored 1,106 points between 2002 and 2006.

Women's Basketball Top Ten Watch

Next Game: Thursday at Coastal Carolina Sophomore Crystal Henderson has 200 assists through 46 games. Tenth on the all-time list is Sharon Nesbit, who was on the team from 1989-1992, with 293; meanwhile, ninth on the list is Terese Allen, who was on the team from 1977-1981, with 301.  

Panther Dual Debuts: Women's Tennis v. Georgia Tech (Jan. 13, 2025)

Senior Sierra Sandy , a transfer from Florida A&M, competed in both doubles and singles against the Jackets- she retired in singles, so we'll see if she's going to compete on Friday.  Also making her Panther dual debut was freshman Zeynep Erbakan , who fell 6-3, 6-1 at the #6 spot.  The Panthers have a two-match weekend on the docket- Friday at Clemson and Sunday at home against Kennesaw State.
