Men's Soccer Top Ten Watch

After Sunday's game against Old Dominion, senior goalie Loan Marin has a GAA of 1.44 this year, which would be the ninth-best single-season mark in team history if the season ended right now. He also has 31 saves on the year and the tenth-best mark is currently 71, held by Yannic Horn.

Women's Soccer Tidbits after the Texas State game (Saturday, September 27, 2025)

Minutes Mark Junior Aaliyah Faddoul has tallied 1,039 minutes this year while freshman Lily Sawyer has 1,016. The high point for minutes in a season since 2019 is Eva Diez Lois in 2022, who picked up 1,799. Minutes Milestone Faddoul is now ninety-five minutes away from 4,000 for her Panther soccer career, meaning she'll most likely surpass that on Sunday at home against Coastal Carolina.  Games Played Faddoul tallied her fiftieth game for Panther soccer on Saturday while sophomore Abby Kilman tallied her thirtieth.  Top Ten Watch Redshirt sophomore Ariana Anderson has picked up 57 saves in 21 games after Saturday. Tenth on the all-time list is currently Christa Fox with 95.

Volleyball Milestones after the final weekend of September

Grad student Myllena Torquetti tallied her three-hundredth point (now at 306.5) and has forty appearances between beach and court volleyball for the Panthers.  Senior Alessia Cappai tallied her fortieth appearance and four-hundredth point- she currently stands at 406.5 points.  Senior Courtney Smith not only tallied her fiftieth appearance between beach and court volleyball for the Panthers, but she is also, to my knowledge, the first beach volleyballer in GSU history to tally ten appearances in court volleyball. Senior Shanelle Martinez tallied her 900th career assist in yesterday's game and has had a hand, either directly or indirectly, in an impressive 983 points in her 43-game career- 900 assists and 83 points.  Freshman Marta Lazzarin has 263 digs just over a month into the season- tenth in a season in team history is 472, set in 2022 by Livy Kowalkowski.  *Lazzarin's 5.6 digs/set is about four-tenths of a point in front of season-record pace.

Volleyball Milestones after last weekend

Junior Akira Burt is 48 points away from 600 for her career.  Senior Alessia Cappai is two appearances away from 40 and 11.5 points away from 400.  Senior Courtney Smith now has 48 appearances between beach and court volleyball and is two away from becoming, I believe, the first beach volleyballer in Georgia State history to tally ten appearances in court volleyball.  Grad student Myllena Torquetti now has 38 appearances- 37 in court volleyball and one in beach volleyball. She is also nine points away from 300.  Senior Shanelle Martinez has contributed to 938 points in her 41-game career- 857 assists and 81 points.

Volleyball: Digs in a Season Under Threat (through Sep. 20, 2025)

Freshman Marta Lazzarin has 224 digs entering the start of Sun Belt play- tenth in a single season is 472, set in 2022 by Livy Kowalkowski.  Lazzarin's 5.74 digs/set is nearly a half-point ahead of season-record pace- the current season record is 5.26/set (Emily Averbeck in 2012).

Men's Soccer: Season Goalie Records Tracker

Senior Loan Marin has a 1.38 GAA and has picked up 24 saves in eight games heading into Sunday's game. He's on pace to be tied for seventh in terms of season GAA while tenth for saves in a season is currently 71, set by Yannic Horn in 2016.

Volleyball v. Florida State (Monday, September 15, 2025)

Freshman Marta Lazzarin has 178 digs through nine games. At 5.56 digs/set, she's three-tenths of a point ahead of season-record pace.  Senior Shanelle Martinez tallied her 800th career assist for the Panthers and currently sits at 822. It's also worth noting that she's had a hand in 899 points in her 39 appearances- 822 assisted and 77 scored herself. Of her 77 points, 37 are aces.  Freshman Emily Harden has dished out 127 assists.  Senior Courtney Smith tallied her seventh appearance of the season and sits at 47 across beach and court volleyball. I believe that she's three games away from being the first beach volleyballer in GSU history to reach double-digit appearances in court volleyball. In terms of the first-year players with aces, Lazzarin has eight, Harden has five and freshman Rayne Williams has three. Williams also has three solo blocks, tied with senior Myllena Torquetti for the team lead.

Women's Soccer v. Southern Mississippi (Sunday, September 14, 2025)

Not only did this 4-2 win stretch their unbeaten streak to three games, they tallied four goals against Southern Miss after three combined against Florida and Wofford.  Senior Emily Glenn is now two games back of the fifty-appearances plateau for her career- she's at 48 games.  Senior Brook Nelson returned to action with 67 minutes, putting her over 3,000 for her career- 3,001 in 39 games.  Junior Aaliyah Faddoul picked up two goals, giving her 19 in 47 games. There's a two-way tie for ninth all-time, as both Lauren Chavez and Sarah Feske have 23. Faddoul also now has 51 points (Sarah Bennett, with 56, is currently tenth) and is 365 minutes away from 4,000.

Volleyball v. Florida A&M (Saturday, September 13, 2025)

Digs Wiz: Freshman Marta Lazzarin has 159 digs on the season at 5.68 digs/set and is on pace to break the season record (she's currently about a half-point ahead of record pace). Games Played: Senior Alessia Cappai tallied her thirty-fifth game for Panther volleyball while junior Akira Burt logged her sixtieth.  March to 800: Senior Shanelle Martinez has currently picked up 798 assists and is two away from the milestone.   Panther Debut: Freshman Marla Valentin appeared in one set for the first appearance of her GSU career.  Top Ten Watch: Burt currently has 142 block assists in her Panther career, and the tenth-best career mark is 230.  Two-Sport Athlete: Senior Courtney Smith tallied her forty-sixth appearance between beach and court volleyball.  Win Streak: The team has now won four in a row.

Junior Akira Burt has 140 block assists in 59 career games entering the Florida A&M rematch. Tenth on the all-time list is currently held by current Sandy Panther head coach Beth Van Fleet with 230 while Vineece Verdun is currently ninth with 232.

Volleyball v. McNeese State (Friday, September 12, 2025)

*Straight-set win (third win in a row) and ninth win out of their last eleven after they went 3-1 in their last four games of 2024 and have a 6-1 start this year. Dig Machine: Freshman libero Marta Lazzarin has 133 digs through 24 sets just seven games into her Panther career for an average of 5.54 per set, on pace to break a school record. The current school record for digs/set in a season is 5.26, set in 2012 by Emily Averbeck.   March to 600: Junior Akira Burt is 82 points away from 600 for her Panther career.
